Kathie Olivas is a multi-media artist who currently lives in Tampa, FL. Her work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions in some of the leading galleries and museums across North America. Inspired by the baby doll, stuffed toy, cartoon, creep show school - rooted in pop art, surrealism, illustration and animation, the characters depicted in her work are vision of those children from colonial American era pictures dressed as young adults. Olivas puts this vision in parallel with her characters own post-apocalyptic conformity feeling. Her works has been published in many magazines and has won many awards including Weekly Planet’s "Best Most Prolific Curator" award in 2000.
