Cathie Bleck
Cathie Bleck was born in Waukegan, Illinois one of nine children, most of them artists. She studied design and painting at the University of Illinois (C-U), graduating in Fine Art in 1978. Since then several private commissions has established the importance of her artworks including Sony Records, Time magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Esquire, The New York Times, Warner Bros, Random House, Simon & Schuster, U.S. postage stamps and the 2007 US Earth Day image, among others.
She has lectured and conducted workshops internationally and in 2006, Open Spaces, her first art book was published by Murphy Design. She has appeared in close to 50 group exhibitions throughout the world and recently had two major exhibitions in the United States in April 2008 at the New Britain Museum of American Art in Connecticut and in the fall of 2008 at the prestigious Butler Institute of American Art in Ohio which was a tremendous success.
